The Port Harcourt Link Club, a socio philanthropic organization and a partner with environmental agencies and governments has initiated the drive towards a sustainable future for mankindby admonishing resident of Rivers State to focus on activities that will benefit the micro-society in particular and mankind in general.
A press statement by the organisation in commemoration of the World Environment Day on June 5, identifies air pollution as a major challenge to the resident of the state. It noted that Rivers State, cannot discuss world environment day without mentioning the current challenge of air pollution that is around Port Harcourt metropolis, adding also that the negative air pollution impacts are avoidable while the public health implications are undesirable.
Moreso, the degree of air pollution, the cause and effect and prevention, or elimination is central to the quality of life of the people of Rivers state.
The Port Harcourt Link Club was established on the 5th of May 1988.
